Growing up in a family of 11 children my earliest memories relate to smell. My mother's touch was always fragrant and healing, her soft skin smelled of roses and her hair of violets, and when I needed comfort I found it in the forever sweet smell of lavender of my father's arms.
My grandmother’s garden with fruits, vines, flowers and vegetables became the place to practice making potions for beautiful skin, and our pantry at home full of jars with the most interesting assortment of dried flowers and herbs was a magical medicine cabinet!

When we needed something special we walked a few blocks to the Botica (Apothecary) were we could buy a small amount of body lotion, rose water or a compounded ointment for skin rashes, dryness, bug bites etc., oh.. and beauty creams.
All of this and more precious teachings from my upbringing have made a believer out me. I believe that for every need the Earth provides a remedy or at least an opportunity for well-being. I believe in pure, effective ingredients formulated ethically so they do not cause us harm, I treasure Traditional medicine passed on by our ancestors, and I also have great respect for scientific studies which help us make necessary choices about solutions for our skin care concerns.
